Mission:

To provide leadership and promote actions that reduce waste, conserve resources, prevent pollution, and foster sustainability through community partnerships and educational programs.

Be Smart (Save Money and Reduce Trash) Goals:

• Reduce waste generated by businesses, organizations, schools, and households.
• Build awareness for waste reduction methods and motivate people and businesses to take action to reduce waste.
• Encourage "critical thinking" skills to make the best environmental choices and provide specific examples of waste reduction techniques.
• Combine the expertise of local communities, state agencies, non-profit organizations, business groups, and environmental organizations in promoting and practicing waste reduction.
• Providing a consistent waste reduction message through print, TV, radio, the internet and retail point-of-sale.

Funding

The Coalition relies on funds from business, industry, municipalities and grants to carry out waste reduction programs. Donations are accepted at the address below and should be marked for Be Smart Waste Reduction.
