Waste Reduction Hits the Presses! Can you find an example of waste reduction that made today's news? If so, take a close look at the article. Underline words that reveal what the causes of the waste problem might be, and think about additional causes that may not be identified in the article. Circle words that tell what effect this waste problem has had. Now put your own problem solving power to work; outline steps that individuals, businesses or communities may take to solve this waste problem.

Which products were advertised more, disposable products or reusable products? Consider the things that you and you family use; how can you reduce waste at home?

Smart AND Funny!  Re-draw a comic strip to show waste reduction strategies in use in the character's home, workplace, whatever the setting! Or, create your own comic strip about waste reduction.
