2006 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Sites

City of Racine

From March through October city residents may take their household hazardous waste to 6200 21st Street, west of Hwy 31, on the third Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. For further information, visit http://www.cityofracine.org/depts/wastewater/ or call 262-636-9181.

Milwaukee County, Metropolitan Milwaukee Sewerage District Communities (MMSD) and the Caddy Vista Sanitary District

  • Residents may take their household hazardous waste to three year-round collection sites in Franklin, Menominee Falls or Milwaukee or several mobile locations on scheduled dates. For more information, visit www.mmsd.com/programs/hhw5.cfm or call 414-225-2066.
  • Friday, September 21
    • 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon): County Public Works Dept., W4097 County Rd. NN, Elkhorn, Agricultural & VSQG Business Waste Only.
    • 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. : City of Delavan Street Dept., 490 Richmond Rd., Household Waste only.
  • Saturday, September 22
    • 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. noon: County Public Works Dept.,W4097 County Rd. NN, Elkhorn, Household Waste only .

Waukesha County

County residents can visit any of three year-round collection sites:

  • Menomonee Falls - Veolia Environmental Services, W124 N9451 Boundary Road (124th Street). Open Mon. and Wed. 11am - 6pm and Saturday 8am - 2pm (except holidays).
  • Muskego - Jensen Environmental Management, W144 S6347 College Court - April through October, open every Saturday from 8am - Noon (except holidays); November - March, open the first and third Saturdays 8am to Noon (except holidays).
  • Waukesha City - at the City Incinerator Building, 900 Sentry Drive - April - November, open the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, 8am - 4pm (except holidays); May - October, open the third Wednesday of the month, 11am - 7pm; December - March, open the second Saturday, 8am - 4pm (except holidays).

Each site has a Product Exchange where residents can pick up useable household, garden and automotive products.

Waukesha County will also hold special one-day HHW collections in Brookfield, Delafield, Mukwonago, New Berlin, and Oconomowoc. For specific dates and locations, please call (262) 896-8300 or visit www.waukeshacounty.gov/recycling

Calumet County

  • May 18, Town of Harrison Town Garage, 3-6 p.m.
  • May 19, Calumet County Highway Shop, 8 - 11 a.m.
  • Household, agricultural and business hazardous wastes accepted.
