to the date of application submittal
Project Type: Flat Rate per qualified
applicant
Methodology: All complete applications
postmarked by the deadline will be evaluated. Applicants claiming
compliance with at least ____ (number) of the criteria listed
below will share in the money available for efficiency grants.
By statute, the efficiency grant plus the current regular
recycling grant cannot exceed the allowable expenses from
two years previous to the grant year.
Criteria: All applications claiming
compliance with at least __ of the following criteria will
share efficiency grants:
- Cooperative agreements with
private parties
- businesses
- non-profit organizations
- civic groups
- Three or more municipalities joined
in one Responsible Unit
- County Responsible Unit
- Municipality with population of 50,000
or more
- Cooperative Agreements or joint
contracting with other governmental units for:
- Collection
- Processing, materials recovery
facility use
- Marketing
- Education
- Operation costs below a standard (standard
to be determined)
- Participation rate above a certain
level (level to be determined)
- Collection rates above a certain level
(level to be determined)
- Capture rate above a certain level
(level to be determined)
- Other actions already taken,
for example
- Better collection/sorting equipment
- Improvements resulting from new
contract language
- Comprehensive Solid Waste Planning
Funding Distribution: To the extent
allowable by law, the total of available funds will be divided
by the total population of the service areas of all eligible
applicants. Each applicant would them receive a flat rate
per capita.
